Wagon Time

This is Lana playing with Spanky and her new red wagon. We rode in it down the driveway and she yelled "WEEEEE!!!" the whole time. Then, when I got out, she decided to get out too and pull spanky all around. It was so funny because she kept telling him to sit down and to "GO GO GOOOOO!!!"

Family Fun Weekend

These are just a few of the shots taken this past weekend when the entire family came to visit. We had SOOOO much fun as you can see. Lana is in love with her cousins and did nothing but follow them around and mimic everything they did. She has started making sentences...Mama up please...good girl lola...and a few others. She also learned this week (c0urtesy of her daddy) to answer the question, how many puppies do you have and she will hold up two fingers and say the word two. I know that tere have been many more words that she has added to her vocabulary, but I am pretty sure it has reached the point where it is impossible to keep track!

The Potty

well, it is official...Lana Peed in the big girl potty two days ago. Every night when we give her a bath/shower we have been putting her on the toilet to sit for a few seconds and then she wipes and flushes. Well, Tuesday night she actually pee peed in the potty. Yes we are/were so excited!

BUT WAIT! THERE IS MORE!!!!! Tonight she got out of the showere and walked over to the toilet, she grabbed some toilet paper and squated right next to the potty (on top of daddy's nudie magazine) and peed right there on the floor(because I had no idea what she was trying to tell me) She then took the toilet paper in her hand, wiped her nunu and put it in the toilet.
I SWEAR I havent doen anything special...Lana just want to grow up WAY TOO FAST!!!!!!

This is our talented artist! She decided she was old enough to have a temporary tatoo...hencce the ink job on her knee:-)

This is also a great time to share with you all that she has passed 50 words this past week. The newest words to add to her vocabulary are ice, moon, pool, pop, nanny, dude, clock (pronounced without the L :-) ) There are several other words that she learned but I cannot think of them at the moment...what a smarty pants though. She has been such a giggle puss and a comedian lately too. We love it! SHe is also about to start potty training. She likes to sit on the big person potty. Then, climb down, tear off toilet paper and wipe her nunu. Today we taught her to put the used toilet paper in the potty and how to flush. She hasnt actually gone potty yet, but that shouldnt be very long...guess we need to buy her her own potty seat :-)

Thank you & Reflection

Thank you to everyone who attended the memorial service/ life celebration. It was an amazing turn out. Jim's mom was an absolutely amazing woman and her love touched som many lives as the number of attendees, cards, and phone calls showed. Thank you all so much for all of your support.
It is hard to get back to normal and go through the daily life motions after losing someone so close to you. We have been gone from our home for a little over two weeks and are so overwhelmed with what we need/should be doing. Not to mention trying to reestablish normalcy in our one year olds life. We are truly blessed and thankful to have such a great support system.
When we got home last night, it was after 1:00am. It was at that time we noticed our lawn had been mowed and cared for by our wonderful neighbors. My mom had cleaned our house and bought us new sheets/bed spread...partially because she couldnt find any of our spare bed linens. All of these meaningful tasks done with out being asked...just out of love. We have several dinner dates/offers that we will be benefitting from as well in the up and coming week. We are looking forward to home cooked meals as we have eaten fast food or restaurant food for EVERY meal since we left...that is not only expensive, but tiresome! I just cant express enough how grateful we are for everything everyone has done or is doing for us. You are all so wonderful and hopefully we will be able to thank you all personally as time progresses.
I will post again soon with some recent photos of Alana. Over the past two weeks her vocabualry blossomed to over 50 words. She is so amazing, smart, fun, energetic, and just plain perfect. Without our little angel, this past week would have been tremendously more difficult. Although, with her...it was definitly interesting! Thank you to all of her aunts and uncles for playing pass the baby every night at dinner. :-)
